Jesus Fills All Our Needs

(A children’s sermon)

-Can somebody tell me what their favorite food is?

-Can somebody tell me a food your parents try to get you to eat or eat more of that you don’t really like?

-Why do you think your parents want you to eat more of that food?
(Probably because it’s good for you.)

*Who knows what’s best for us or good for us even better than we do?
(God)

-That’s right, and we need to remember that. When Jesus fed 5000 people with just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, He showed us that no task is too great or impossible for God to accomplish. But, when we don’t get what we want, and when our prayers to God aren’t answered the way we wanted them to be, we need to remember that what we want isn’t always what’s good for us. Sometimes we pray for what we want; sometimes we pray for what we need. God wants us to tell Him all about our wants and needs. Sometimes what we want is what we need, and what God knows we need He will always give to us.

-So just remember that when you pray for something and it’s not answered the way you wanted it to be, it’s because God knows your needs and the needs of those you pray for better than you do. And, remember . . . Jesus fills all of our needs.
